We take our puppy to dog parks and she doesn’t listen well when she is busy either. If things continue then hopefully he will learn not to mess with certain dogs. Kayce is 15 months old and she is still learning how to behave at the dog park. Maybe if he doesn’t figure it out he will learn about the collar. Every time you set off the collar call his name right before you do it and hold out the clicker so he can see it. Then, hopefully, eventually just the act of calling his name and showing him the clicker will stop the behavior before you even have to push the button. I have seen several people do this with their dogs…

But he is young and full of energy…and biting and rough housing is how they play. I just watch my puppy carefully and if she gets into rough housing where there is whining or yelping or it looks too rough then I step in…but otherwise I let them deal with it because if I don’t then she will not learn. All the dog will learn if the owner keeps stepping in is that the owner has their back if anything goes wrong so they don’t have to be concerned with whatever happens.

I’d say after a few times of shocking the lil guy he’d get use to it and you could just show him that your going to shock him and make him stop.. Most dogs don’t like to be shocked, kinda painful… But partly he’s still a young one ya know… Don’t give up hope on this one, keep working with him.. And don’t waste any more money on training him or having someone else train him… your chasing good money after bad in my opinion.. GOOD LUCK!!!
