Dog Training Collars
Choosing from amongst the many dog training collars offered could be bewildering but it needn't be. To choose the best training collar for your dog, there are several tips you need to bear in mind. Training collars are meant to be used to train, control and protect your dog. They should never be used as a method of punishment or to harm your dog.
So yesterday I was freaked out cause I thought our dog was illegal in Germany, cause he is on the dangerous dogs list...However, when my husband got home he told me being in the army theres certain laws we have to follow, so we checked into it, called some ppl, and he is fine, but we need to get a neon green dog collar and muzzle for him... I am now having a heck of a time finiding a neon green collar for him online, the shops don't have any here. So I need help finding a neon green collar, sized at least 16in. and no bigger than 22 in. in length, and width should be at least an inch.... So if you know of a good site that has one, please let me know. THANKS
Choice of the best kind of dog training collar for your personal training goals is just the first step. In addition, you need to make sure it is the suitable size and that you understand the way to use it properly. Even the best collar may not be appropriate if it's not utilized properly.
Varieties of Dog Training Collars
Dog training collars include prong collars, head halters, choke collars, electronic collars. Dog harnesses and standard dog collars work fine for their intended purpose, however aren't regarded as "training collars" and so won't be included here.
Prong collars possess the appearance of some thing from a middle ages torture chamber that might be really unpleasant. Used properly, they are quite humane. Prong dog training collars were to begin with made from metal prongs linked to each other in chain fashion. These days they're also available made out of plastic material that is recommended by many. These types of collars control the dog by means of slightly "pinching" the neck when the handler pulls on the lead. If used over aggressively, they can cause pain so care is needed.
Head halters such as Haiti and Gentle Leader halters look like and operate in a fashion similar to harnesses used for horses. They work by guiding the dogs' path. The dogs' body naturally follows the head and a harness really does a very good job of controlling the head. Although they may look to be overly restrictive, the dog rapidly becomes used to them. They are especially successful in controlling aggressive dogs.
Choke collars remain popular and are also suggested for use in many 4H dog training programs despite the controversy surrounding their use. Utilized properly, they are acceptable dog training collars, however are very easy to misuse. If they are put on the dog incorrectly, if links become twisted or if too much force is used by the handler, they can, in fact, become tools of torture. For me personally, I stopped using choke collars a long time ago and will never go back to them. You will find many far better dog training collars out there.
Electronic dog collars are intended to give the dog a slight shock upon command from the handler. The intensity can be modified from a minor buzz or tingle to get the dogs' notice to a more severe jolt. These should never be used on little or fearful dogs and only after discussion of your situation with a trustworthy dog trainer. Shock collars could easily harm your dog if utilized carelessly.
What ever your individual needs, you can find the proper collar from the wide variety of dog training collars readily available online. Spend a couple of minutes to look through our site and turn your difficult dog into a pleasant, well socialized partner.

I found this online too
American military personnel living in Germany wondered how the new laws would affect their pets. In his series in Stars and Stripes, Pilgrim provided the few available answers: Quoting Millie Waters, the spokeswoman for USAREUR (U.S. Army Europe), Pilgrim told Americans that under the U.S. Armed Forces Agreement, they must comply with German laws regarding the ownership and breeding of dogs.
In other words you are not exempt from breed bans just because you are in the Army….
and also
Visitors beware
It’s not only German nationals who are affected. Linda Blundell, stationed with the British forces in Germany owns a Staffie, but asked for a transfer back to Britain “as locals treat you like a leper every time you walk your dog”. Things have become so bad that the Army has now appointed a liaison officer to advise Forces’ families with dogs, and the American Army is advising its personnel not to take certain breeds of dogs if they are posted to Germany.
If you are holidaying in Germany or neighbouring countries such as Austria, check with their Ministry of Agriculture, and check our news and travel sections for up-to-date information. With some German States also incorporating weight (up to 44 pounds) as well as height (up to 15.7 inches) restrictions, legislation can affect many breed of dogs. Although Germany has said that visitors can bring Staffies and other dogs into the country for up to four weeks, there have been reports of tourists and their dogs being hassled.

Have you tried ebay? Many people make collars and could make a green one.
Personalized Dog Collars
Here is a wonderful site that has many dog collars, including neon green….
This site has them, but they are dyed leather, you can choose from many different studs and crystals to have attached also, if you wish to have a more customized collar.
This page has black collars with a lime green “light” up strip down the middle. It has an on and off switch, to allow you to light up your dog’s collar at night, to see him better. A leash of the same coloring is also available. These are not solid lime green though.
This site has lime green collars. Most are 3/4 inch wide (seems to be that way on every site)…but some are only 1/2 inch wide. So be careful when choosing to order any.
This site also has dog collars that come in Neon Green. However, most are made for Greyhound dogs. They have a sheepskin lining for throat protection on them….there are actual plain, old dog collars….you just have to look over the site, click on dog collars and then chose what size and color you wish. Be patient, you will find the right area.
I do hope this has helped you some.
Good luck!
Small Dog Collars
I can’t help you with the neon green collar but would like to suggest that you introduce the muzzle to your dog slowly and carefully. You do not just want to buy a muzzle and strap it on because you could make your dog **** to wear it, and you could struggle with putting it on for a very long time! Instead, you need to condition the dog to wearing it. Take it slowly. Put treats in the muzzle and lay it on the floor at first. When your dog is comfortable with eating treats out of the muzzle on the floor, start feeding him treats out of the muzzle while it is in your hands. Next start putting on the straps while treating. If he pulls back, you’ve gone too fast and need to back up a step. You really want the dog to become eager to put his nose in the muzzle and to become comfortable with it on. Even proud to have it on. Tell him how handsome he looks in it. Keep it positive. I bought my dog’s muzzle at The people there are great! You can phone or email them telling them what the muzzle will be used for and give them your dog’s measurements and they will help you pick the right muzzle for your dog.
